Description
The Needles Old Battery and New Battery are historic fortifications located on the western tip of the Isle of Wight. The Old Battery was built in the 1860s and served as a coastal defense during both World Wars, while the New Battery was built in the 1890s and used as a testing site for experimental weapons during the 20th century.
Today, visitors can explore both the Old and New Batteries, which have been restored and transformed into museums showcasing their military history. Visitors can also take in stunning views of the surrounding coastline and the iconic Needles Rocks.
