The SVR is a wonderful experience and offers good value for money. The prices for events and experiences are clearly displayed and although they may seem expensive, there are two parts to the payment: funding the experience itself and also the funding of the heritage aspect.Visiting the stations affords the opportunity to explore some of Shropshire and surrounding areas and immerse yourself in the past. There is good walking around many areas of the route. It is a great memory-making place.Photographs below are added from the holiday time where stations and trains were decorated in lights. A really wonderful event.

Spent a delightful afternoon going from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth and then back again. Would have liked a bit longer in Bridgnorth but we had a 15 minute delay going up. In the way back we shared a cabin with 2 knowledgeable gentlemen (shareholders) Bill was 94 and was full of informationThank you for a wonderful day

If you like steam trains, history, or just something for a different day out this may be for you. Well restored carriages, enthusiastic volunteers and beautiful scenery combine to give you a different experience to the run of the mill museum trip which is what a day our here is all about really. Letting you experience a different time with the noise and smell of an age long gone. Easy car parking, not badly priced at £4 for the day great bacon egg butty at £5 and a cup of hot tea all added up to an enjoyable day. Views of the river seven the animals at the wildlife park as you pass and well-maintained stations had faces smiling all down the train. Well done SVR a great day out.

Nicely styled and restored Station at the North end of the Severn Valley Railway. Lots of facilities including a Pub (The Railwayman's Arms), Souvenir shops and support shops for the various restoration schemes on the Railway. Refreshment Room and Car Parking. The staff (Volunteers, with a small number of paid staff) are all very informative and helpful. The Photos are from August 6th, 2022.

This station is lovely glimpse of a past time. The station has been restored beautifully and overlooks the train yard so you can watch engineers as work.

Lovely experience on the Severn Valley Railway. Feels like taking a step back in time, from the beautifully maintained steam train in all its glory, to the carriages, stations and platforms, all help bring a bit of nostalgia and excitement to the adventure. As you trundle along with the comforting sound of clickety clack on the tracks. Your treated to some amazing views, especially around June and the poppy fields are in full bloom, an amazing sight as you pass. Plenty of time to get some pictures, through the old sash windows. Staff throughout the journey were very welcoming and friendly.

My review is based on the Christmas lights train experience. We booked this the same time we booked the Halloween ghost Train at Kidderminster which was very disappointing so after that I wasn't looking forward to this but it was already booked. I will say it was better than the Halloween experience, however it still wasn't worth the money paid so we will not be returning and unfortunately I cannot recommend it. The private carriage had a little tinsel and a few baubles for decoration, better than the Halloween decor which had nothing but still more could of easily been done. The speaker's I'm glad to say did play a little story and music as you ride along which was a lovely touch. The lights were nice but again disappointing in regards to the tickets price charged and the experience description gave.
